I registered with Cosmetique last winter/early spring. Tried it for several months, decided the products were NOT QUALITY products for the amount of cost, so PHONED IN my CANCELLATION. Two months later, around August of this year (2007), my bank account was overdrawn because COSMETIQUE billed me! I suffered almost $100 in overdraft fees as a result!

I phoned them again, furious. They would not reimburse me for the overdrafts, although the woman I spoke with ACKNOWLEDGED my account "should have been CLOSED", and agreed to email me a CONFIRMATION that my account was indeed, now, FINALLY CANCELLED, FOR REAL She was VERY RELUCTANT to do this, insisted it was not necessary, but finally indulged me.

I DID NOT EVEN RECEIVE a reimbursement for the after-cancellation fee, although a product DID show up on my porch the next day! I decided as long as I had a copy of the cancellation in my hands that I didn't care, as long as it was OVER.

No, not over. This week, my bank called me to "discuss a serious problem" with my account. Turns out Cosmetique STOLE money from my account a few weeks ago, and, again, as a result, my account bounced three legitimate checks and an ATM fee for a total of $144.00!!!!

I will call them AGAIN, but feel this company needs to be reported as a rip-off AND THIEF!! I am on a fixed income and they have all but destroyed my already weak credit (medical bills over the years after a car accident and resulting disability), and, worse, my bank has warned me I will be unable to keep my account with them if this continues!

Leaving $100 in my account to cover such "accidents" is nigh impossible for me -- I simply do not have the luxury of adequate income to do so, living paycheck to paycheck on a carefully structured budget.

I DEMAND A REFUND OF EVERY PENNY they've caused me to LOSE after first cancellation, EVEN MY OVERDRAFT FEES, because, as any judge would say, "Were it NOT for the actions of (Cosmetique), these events would NOT HAVE HAPPENED..."

Shea, go into your bank and tell them this company is not allowed to withdraw ever again.

You should have had that lady send you the confirmation of the date you canceled the account in Postal Service mail instead of email. Push for that the next time you talk to them, lie and tell them your computer died and they need to contact you by paper mail from now on.

PLEASE help stop this menace! I posted my complaint/report, and followed it up with a visit to the Better Business Bureau! www.bbb.org

When I went there, I discovered Cosmetique was still considered 'Satisfactory'; WE know that is not true, but if you don't file a legitimate report/complaint with your area BBB, Cosmetique will never have to face JUSTICE!
On complaints received, the Chicago BBB shows:

"The BBB processed a total of 91 complaints about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period.Of the total of 91 complaints closed in 36 months, 36 were closed in the last year."

I have nearly been RUINED, financially, physically and emotionally, by this company and their tactics, and fear it will not cease until a class action suit or something happens...

...WE MUST BE HEARD!
