I'm a new driver fresh out of training from slc. Rightnow I'm sitting in Cambridge, Oh with a load that delievers tomorrow. I'm also sick as a dog and wanting to seek medical attention, but the people at slc wants me to wait till after delivery to go back home which is only 150 miles away. I've told them several times that I'm getting worse, but they want that load on time. This place don't care about there drivers. Dm's make there money off of the drivers ability to stay out and get the loads on time. I can't help that I'm sick, but if he wants to get his moneys worth from me then just have me go home and get better. I don't get sick very often but when I do I'm floored. Now if any office people or DM's would get sick, they would pack it in and go home.
Where not any different.

Might be too late

AUTHOR: Martin - (U.S.A.)

Ill still post this anyway in case someone else may read this its very important.

If you sick in a truck know this.... NO ONE IN THE TRUCK STOP KNOWS THIS BUT YOU AND YOUR COMPANY. Depends on how sick you are you are in grave danger of becoming a statistic. If you wait to long you may become too weak to get out or contact someone for help. No one and I repeat no one is going to know this. If the company does not hear form you they may think you abandoned the truck so no help is going to be sent to you. There is no excuse for a company to take you claim as false unless you have shown a pattern of false illness in the past.

I have seen my share of 911 rescue in truck stops, some drivers are found dead, the lucky ones near death. Its not a joke its serious it goes with out saying its not a game to claim being sick to get out of work, or to go home. I hope and there is no reason for me to think you are doing this.

I was working for JB Hunt, they sent me a message one day to check on a truck that was in the same truck stop as I was. They had a message that he sent saying he was sick and they havent heard from him in awhile. So I beat feet to get to his truck coming around the end of a line I seen 911 already there. It takes a complete rescue to get a driver out. He was one of the lucky ones he was still alive.JB had also sent the 911 rescue team out before they sent me the message. Double check they wanted someone to help this driver as soon as possible. I dont really know what I would have done but I would have done what I could have. I always knew from that day forward that JB had my back in case of illness. My dad was sick open hart surgery thingy JB rerouted my truck took the load of me, gave me an express trip home, then told me just to report back in when I was ready. Hmmm you think CR is going to do this LOL. Oh by the way I no longer work for JB so this isnt a plug for them. Just an example of really bad companies and those that are not as bad.

The best solution, and I cant help you with what is wrong, is to call 911 and request to be taken to the hospital. Then from there arrange transport home. Document it all, let the company know that as soon as you are well that you will resume you duties and pu the turck.

Good luck
