Design Savers Plan ripoff Out-Of-The-Blue "Refund Check" for a membership I never had? Aurora Colorado

Indeed, this is one of the various reasons I would never cash that check (or any other bizarre unwarranted checks, like the one for approx. $3000 I got the other day which was slightly more obvious as a whole other scam, that one got immediately shredded).

Sending someone a check isn't illegal, but from what I have read, this is definitely someone else's money, which they had paid to Design Savers Plan in good faith that they would get certain health benefits, which they didn't receive.

As I stated in the initial report, I plan on shredding it. I'd just like to know before I do so whether there are any authorities I can hand it over to, for example...an organization that keeps this sort of thing on file?

I was wondering, seriously, what the scammers would do when the lottery winnings scam became too widely well-known to be of use. Not that it seems to be dying out, but maybe this place is just getting a jump on the competition.

If someone sent me a refund check for something I didn't pay for, I'd be confused, but not entirely sure I wouldn've cashed it, for some stupid reason.

Thank you so much, Leah. Even if this turns out to be a valid check, for a refund you are entitled to, but were unaware of, somehow, this just smacks of "fraud", and I bet it won't be the last time it happens to someone. Thanks to YOU, it won't be me.
