Destiny Sales INC Conned with a sob story... dealing with thieves DALLAS, Texas

I am absolutely disgusted with this company.

My husband and I were conned into ordering a magazine subscription from some charming man who had a sob story about growing up in the projects. He supposedly saved a young girl from a drive-by and was injured in the process. Although we were both hesitant and uncomfortable making a purchase,  we didn't believe someone could look us in the eye and lie with such ease. We wanted to believe we were helping him raise funds for college... one of my biggest suspicions was based on the fact that many of the magazine titles on the list were misspelled, but we trusted the lying "salesman" aka conman. Honestly, what kind of lowlife can sit and lie to people while looking them in the eye? Most con men have to do it by phone or mail. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS.

He mentioned our neighbors and their purchases, which eased our minds... he also lingered and we just wanted to get rid of him... so we ordered a magazine.

Later, the evening news covered a story on this traveling sales company. Our fears were confirmed as we listened to the complaints regarding this company.

My husband and I followed the procedure on the back of the contract to cancel the subscription as we did not want to pay $39 to do a stop payment with our bank if we could supposedly stop the payment ourselves.

Of course the check was cashed... we have not received any books, nor do we want to. Additionally, we were not contacted within one business day by a customer service rep as they state is the procedure they follow after you email them...  good luck contacting them by phone as it just rings and rings and is rarely answered.

I have  had the displeasure of talking to the rude and unprofessional "customer service reps" twice and am disgusted they let these people answer the phone. Another obvious sign this is company is not legit.

A twit by the name of Megan acted like a 3rd grader with an attitude problem as she resorted to cutting me off by saying "yep, uh huh, sure, yep, okay" when I was trying to discuss the issue at hand. I reminded her that she was in the customer service industry and her job was to make things right for the customer. She became louder in tone and trashier in her language. I was baffled that anyone pretending to be a customer service rep would even THINK that was acceptable.

I was tossed around and cannot get answers from anyone at this scam of a business. No one can explain why my check was cashed when I followed the cancellation process within the required time frame. Nor can they explain why I was never contacted... or why I haven't received any magazines... or why my initial call was not returned as promised.

They cashed a check they should not have cashed. If they were legit, they would do whatever it takes to make the situation correct. Work with my bank and make it right. They claim the only way they can correct it is by sending me a money order... which will most likely also be a fraud that will cost me more money in the long run. I realize I will not be getting reimbursed, but I will not sit back and let these scam-artists continue to con people.

It is lazy to steal money from people... these beggars need  honest jobs. Karma does justice.
