DHI does not provide the service we pay for Houston Texas

Since DHI has been the only provider in Afghanistan, they take full advantage of this fact in how they charge for services. With the cost of internet services being so high, one would assume that the quality of service would reflect what is paid. For example: I pay $169 which is supposed to provide me a certain amount of bandwith. This could not be further from the truth.

On a regular basis the internet will go down or move to snail speeds. There have been many times that I am not even able to stream a simple YouTube video even on the lowest quality. Although, we are told the time the internet is down is added back to our plan to compensate I do not believe that to be the case. My time still expires at the end of the month period with no additional time added for my account. With no way of further investigating and no option to choose a different provider I am stuck believing what i'm told and not getting the service for which I pay.

With living in an area of hardship, having the internet to turn to at the end of each day for relaxation or enjoyment is a nice choice to have. Unfortunately, most days we have to deal with the fact DHI is either down or your speeds are incredibly slow limiting what we are able to do on the internet. For those trying to conduct schoolwork online it sometimes seems impossible when your not able to load the webpage to complete homework.

The downsides could go on forever. The service is incredibly terrible for the amount of money DHI is making off of the individuals here in Afghanistan (soldiers and contractors). Upgrades to the service and price reduction would be something to see considering it has never happened since DHI became the only ISP for us to choose.
