Directv is a ripe off or better said, Bait and Switch. They say the move package you can get 3 months of free movies and a free DVR with the move. You are obligated to pay for these services later and are not free. I could have got a free HiDef/DVR with all the movies at a much less price with Dish Network. Tried to cancel with only 10 days of service and Directv said they would attach my credit record if I canceled.

just out of curiosity were you given a contract to read, sign and did you get a copy of the contract. its either going to be your proof to what they first told you. or their proof to to what the neglected to tell you. i havent seen a directv contract in a long time. if you got a copy it might just be the time to go read it. if you didnt get a copy then i would request said copy that has your signature on it. maybe check out some local newspaper ads to see if the mention the dish mover promo. if you feel youve been wronged . then take all you info to the attorney general, bbb, consumer affair. the dish network promo you speak of is for first time customers. if you were a dish net customer before you wont qualify as a new customer. but they do have promotions for customers who want to get signed back up with them. new customer lease the equipment , but are not charged a monthly fee to lease. but old customer and existing customers lease the equipment and do pay a monthly fee to lease. just for your info.....now dish network reserves the right to change the promos and the price of programming without any written or verbal notice to the customer.
