Providian sold my GetSmart account to Emerge Mastercard. This company did not send statements and before I knew it, I was a month behind. I have since paid this card off, but the deliquency is still showing up on my credit report.

I was never given any notification that the account was past due. I sent all payments in on time when it was a Providian account. I think people should close their Providian accounts also.
