I own a construction company and thought it would help my business to be able to accept credit cards. The local person that signed me up with EPS knew ahead of time that times were tough for we in the construction business and I would not sign up if there were an annual fee. I signed up expecting a $10 dollar a month fee and a small per-transaction fee AND NOTHING ELSE. I repeated this over and over to this local person and bought the card machine from them outright.

Turns out they recently took an $80 some dollar ANNUAL FEE directly from my bank account costing me an overdraft fee at the worst possible time. In calling these outright thieves I find out it is too late to cancle this year and I can only cancel in writing. If I were to mail them my cancellation notice today I was informed that they would put it on file until this time next year when my "account" would be closed/cancelled. Meanwhile they will keep deducting their "fee" from my account each month as well as the annual fee that was never part of the agreement, or I could buy them off for some $600 dollars.

What country am I living in, again?

Assumptions.. assumptions

Hello, and thank you for responding. Kudos to you for taking some initiative. This is always admirable.

Trouble is, there is quite a bit of information that you do not know. Soooo, the condescending, superior "read the fine print" argument (always good advice when you just might be dealing with crooks) may not be appropriate.

For example; You may not be privy to the discourse I had with one of your coworkers via the Better Business Bureau complaint I filed against your company. I must admit if I weren't an avid reader and wanna-be writer, as well as persistant and full of rightous anger, I might have simply succumbed to the almighty corporate banker might of your misrepresented outright bait and switch contract.

Strange, a phone call with my concerns amounted to the run around game. File a Better Business Bureau complaint and complain about your predatory business practices and LO AND BEHOLD eps, your employer, sees something my (one of your "customers") way and met my concerns with a satisfactory at best action. Guess what that was...

So yeah, by all means be sure to read every single word of an EPS contract because they are pulling a bait and switch on you.

3.07 again!

Sorry you feel you were not told all the facts about the contract but if you decided to read your contract you will see it is in section 3.07 and stated very clear and I quote, An Annual Fee of $85.00 will be charge to all active Terminals in December of each calendar year regardless of enrollment time. This fee is not refundable for any reason and cannot be pro-rated or abated in anyway. This was stated on the contract you sighed. Again I cannot say this enough; its there if you read it. We are her to help you understand the terms of the contract.

Again I see lots of reports like this and it is negligent not to read and go through any kind of contract. If you had a hard time reading on this we all would have been happy to have sent you the terms in larger print.
