The service is extremely tedious and convoluted in terms of the payment: they have different ways, as they say, to enter the web site according to which they charge; in order to qualify for the least price you have to enter through IRS web page, but HELLO, EXCUSE ME, the IRS web site says that you are now leaving the IRS web site. In other words, they make a bunch of nonsensical excuses when people asked why I have been charged $30 for the Federal filing INSTEAD OF FREE, and why the state tax filing cost $20 instead of $10 as every other retailer charges?

IRS has a partnership agreement, the FreeFile Alliance, with private industry to provide tax preparation and e-file to the underserved. Members of the FreeFile Alliance who provide these tax services, have developed websites, in cooperation with IRS, that are accessible only from FreeFile links on www.irs.gov. Each of the FreeFile links to these websites have a disclaimer notifying consumers they are leaving the IRS website. And every member of the FreeFile Alliance has a public website that offers different services and prices from what’s available on their FreeFile websites. The writer has unfortunately not taken the time to read the information presented on the ezTaxReturn.com website, or the information presented on the other tax websites offering services through the IRS FreeFile Partnership. Accordingly, the information presented by the writer is false and misleading, and the prices quoted are wrong.
