I recently took my 2007 Shelby gt500 to the Firestone at 1720 Greenville Ave Dallas Texas 75206. I had a hallow rattling noise in my front left. I had a feeling that my left front ball joint had gone bad. Because my tires were brand new, I wanted firestone to check out my car.  Two hours later I got a phone call from Firestone informing me that the diagnostic had been completed and that it was imperative that I come down to the shop. As they walked me to my car, Firestone gave me an estimate of $6366.35 for multiple problems.  I knew  the estimate was BS.  They also were not aware that I race cars and that I knew about the mechanics of cars.  I decided to take my car into Rockwall Ford so that they could check it out.  The total cost to fix my car, according to the Ford Dealership, was $400. This cost included two new tires plus an alignment for $50. Unlike the Ford dealership, Firestone listed over 15 parts that needed to be replaced, rather than just changing the tires and getting an alignment. One of the many funny parts that they listed and were going to charge me to repair, were for my lower front left and lower front right control arms which totaled $995.48.  They were going to charge me separately for each of the lower ball joints. The ball joints are pressed into the control arms and were not sold separately unless you went with after market ball joints. When I bought my new nittos from discount tires online store,  I had Horizon in Rockwall install them along with steeda bump steer and camber bolts. Note, my car is lowered.  Horizon set the camber to far , which chewed up the inside of the tire. So, the bottom line is Ford Rockwall was right. After new tires and alignment, my car was fixed. I no longer had any problems.  The actual total to fix my car was 400.00 with tax, vs. the $6366.35 quote from Firestone. I have receipts and all documents to prove this. I called the manager and they wouldn't speak to me and the associate was speechless.
