I was contacted back in September about receiving an unsecured credit card with a limit of $5000. I asked the operator (Yoselin) how much this was going to cost. She said that after they recieved my $299, I would receive my credit card. Needless to say, they debited my checking account.
About three to four weeks later, I received a package. In this package was a bunch of papers offering things that I already have such as medical insurance, pre=paid legal, etc. And on top of that was an Empire Advantage Stored Valued Master Card application. You had to place you information on the application and send it back then you would receive your credit card. I had never heard of this bank or company before so I surfed the net to see if I could find information on this comapny and the credit card bank.
Well after searching I came across this website, RIP OFF reports, and found many stories about this company. I decided to cancel my membership and ask them to refund my money. First of all when you call their customer service line, you have to wait at least 15min before someone actually picks up. I told the operator the situation that I wanted to be refunded my money. She said that I would have to send the package back to a P.O. Box in Bel-air , Maryland. I sent the package twice and it came back twice. I called them back again stating that the address was invalid. They gave me another address in Closter, NJ. I refused to send it to that address because I figured it was going to get returned. So I called them back again and told that the address in Closter was invalid also. So they finally told me to contact my bank to do a ACH debit reversal, which I'm in the process of doing now, to get my money refunded. Then on top of that she gave me another address to send the package to, this time it was in New York.
If anyone contacts you on the phone about getting a credit card with an $2500-$5000 credit limit, do not speak to them. Hang up the phone. Because its a scam!!!!
