GDS - Garage Door Service ripoff dishonest fraudulent pricing Chandler Arizona

My garage door would not open. I called GDS who had a 3 page ad in the yellow pages. I was under pressure to get to work because payroll had to be that day. I did not have time to get a couple of estimates.

GDS arrived 2 1/2 hours late. By then I was in a total panic about getting to work. I told the repair man my situation. My boss was calling and all I wanted to do was get out of the garage!

Taking advantage of my situation the repair man rattled off the prices, wrote them down and asked me to sign for the work. I really didn't comprehend what I was signing. I know this is my fault, but I really feel that I was taken advantage of. If I had truly understood what this man was telling me there is no way I would of signed for the charges.

I was charged $298.95 for 2 springs which I found out later should only have been $150. I was charged $199 for 35 minutes labor and $50 for the service call. That afternoon when my husband called the company about the over pricing he was told that I had signed for the work so tough.

We have now contacted American Express to see if we can get these charges reduced, and they are contacting GDS. Unfortunately I did not find this web site until it was too late. We are perfectly willing to pay reasonable prices for the work that was done, but what this company is doing to their customers is criminal.The repair man also balanced the door when he was through. We had to call in a different company to rebalance the door since it sounded like it was going to fall apart when you opened it. No way would we go back to GDS under their warrenty.
