Geico prominently advertises in magazines that it offers discounts to federal employees who are grade GS-7 and above (minimum salary of approximately $45K). What about the thousands of employees who are lower than GS-7? Do they not deserve a break too? Or is Geico letting all lower middle class and poor people know that they don't want to do business with them?

Insurance companies that charge higher rates for customers who have lower credit scores could be considered discrimination, wouldn't you agree? Feel free to share your thoughts.

Lower Income?

Insurance companies do not discriminate against lower income people. They will however, rate apolicy different based on a neighborhood. For example, they would rate the policy for a Ferrari different in SouthHampton and Harlem. Where is it more likely to be stolen? And that is just the reality of life.

Since insurance rates are based on 'risk', wouldn't it be logical to conclude that health care insurance premiums will continue to rise in the USA due to the fact that the majority of Americans over the age of 21 are either overweight or obese?
Happy New Year to you and your family.

You feel discriminated against because you're not a G-7? Really? REALLY???
For your information, every discount we offer has to be approved by each individual state. There has to be a statistical backing for every discount.
Why don't you stop feeling sorry for and try to better yourself?

We only give a Good Student discount to people that have at least a B average. What about all the poor C and D and F students. They need some love too, they need a break too. But like those poor G1 thru G6s, we just don't care.
SERIOUSLY, what is wrong with you??? So we give a discount to a group of people that accheived somthing. Stop being jealous and make something of your life.

This also applies to the military where officers and the higher enlisted receive lower rates and discounts than the lower enlisted.
Making money is about discrimination. Companies hire other companies to do demographics to maximize profits, what do you think that is about? Live with it or elevate your status and get the discount.

Insurance rates are based on Risk. That is the higher the risk the higher the insurance rates are going to be.
They probably have found that people who are GS-7 or higher are lower risk so they are offered a discount.
