Global Ocean Freight Ripoff dishonest and fraudulent shipping company they lie to get your business and then don't deliver Lauderhill Florida

I used Global Ocean Freight to ship a car from Tacoma, Washington to Mannheim, Germany. I had to have the car within 45 days and was told the car would be delivered in that time frame. Based on this information I booked the shipment with GOF and the car was picked up on October 8th, 2004.

On Novebmer 19th I emailed GOF to see if the car arrived in Germany yet and was told it was still sitting on the dock in Los Angeles waiting to be booked by the steamship company!! On rhw 23rd I called the Dispatch Manager at GOF who was extremely rude and yelling on the phone. He told me it wasn't his problem, I had to call the booking company (UNITRANS).

I called UNITRANS about the problem and they said they would call GOF and take care of the problem. They called me back and said my car was bumped up to VIP status and would be shipped the next week (which was approved by 2 supervisors). Transit time to Germany would take 2 weeks so the car should arrive around December 19th.

I called GOF to confirm car was loaded the next week and was told it wasn't. It was scheduled to be loaded on 15 December. I called UNITRANS back to find out what happened to the VIP status. They said they would call GOF and call me back. Well, they never called back. I had to email them and the response was the car would ship on 12/15, like the expeditied shipping agreement never happened.

When I finally got an email in February 2005 from the German company that was delivering the car, the first sentence said: Your container from Korea. Korea?? Maybe that is why it was taking so long....

I asked GOF and UNITRANS staff several times for someone from management to contact me to resolve this issue, but management never contacted me (BIG surprise). The car finally arrived on March 14th, 2005 - over 6 months after it was picked up.

This is my 2nd tour in Germany and I have shipped vehicles with private carriers in the past. I have never experienced such deceit and a lack of customer service as I have with GOF. Because of GOFs negligence I had to pay over $900.00 in rental car fees because they didn't deliver, on top of what I paid to ship the car. ALL GOF does is pass the buck and they couldn't care less about the customer.

My complaint is going in the mail tomorrow to the Attorney General's Office. My recommendation is stay away from this company!
