BEWARE - GLOBAL OCEAN FREIGHT - BEWARE TOTAL RIP OFF/SCAM. I paid for Door-to-door service for my move to UK. GOC sent a 40' container when I needed a 20' (extra costs). GOC wouldn't pay shipping line or agent in UK. Container incurred demurrage charges of $1,100.00. I finally had to pay an additional 2,380.00 Pounds sterling to London agent so that I could get my container delivered, 10 days later. Total costs = $14,000.00 PLATATION Florida

GOC displays logos of the BBB, HHGFAA and AMSA on their paper work. DO NOT BE FOOLED. They are scam artists with a major attitude. They sent me a 40' container when I only had 16' of cargo to be loaded. This was at an extra cost of $3,000.00.
My shipment left for England, I made a trip over to meet it. It arrived and was immediately cleared by Customs. However, the port wouldn't release it. GOC had NOT paid the shipping line and therefore they would NOT release the paper work.
After many trans-Atlantic phone calls, one week later, I finally managed to get the paper work released, but GOC had NOT paid the agent in London. Therefore, he could not arrange for the container to be picked up and delivered. He had dealt with GOC previously and was not prepared to extend any credit to them.
So, my container is gathering demurrage charges, my time is running out in the UK and GOC just keep giving me the run around together with a MAJOR attitude.
I finally suggest to the London agent, that I pay him. So, I paid him for his services and the delivery of my container, at an additional cost to me of 2,380.00 pounds (exchange rate @ 1.41)
What a nightmare - not only in financial terms, but stress too. It is the kind of scenario that causes heart attacks. Moving is stressful enough without being ripped off by a bunch of uncaring parasites all of whom have MAJOR attitudes.
