I received papers from said firm saying I owed money to a collection agency from the lawyers. I tried looking up the agency and could not find a working number. Later I received paperwork saying I was being sued. I repeatedly tried to contact the law firm with out a answer. Next, I tried to find the collection agency Palisades collection with no luck. My pay is now being garnished and I have yet to speak with someone or have paperwork for a court date. I really do not understand how this is possible. I'm sent court documents regarding me that the normal person would never understand. Then I'm not given a court date to try to understand what's going on or my rights. I'm being taken to the cleaners and could soon be homeless because something I don't exactly understand. I don't know what to do.

Contact a Consumer Lawyer and your State Attorney/Secretary to see if they are even allowed to collect this debt in your State. This is a THIRD party debt collector - also check out the Fair Credit Collection laws. These people are scum and will buy old debts, jack up the rate and collect anyway they can.
