Grants Association ripoff, robby smith, ProTel Communications, grants assoc. Sioux Falls Nationwide

Robby Smith from The Grants Association called me too! Yes, nice Indian man who said I had been selected to receive a Federal Government Grant of $5000 to help me in the start-up of my new business...NOT! He sweet talked and assured me of the ligitimacy of his proposal and eventually convinced me to give him my bank account #...BAD IDEA! Once he had my account #, he pretended to be interested in my business and got me to give him my email address too...ANOTHER BAD IDEA! Towards the end of the conversation, he also signed me up for some long distance telephone service, that I didn't want, but had to accept to get the "grant". ANOTHER RED FLAG!

I cancelled that immediately once I recieved the information on that. The long distance service was for $39.95 per month...just a way for them to keep their fingers in my bank account I'm sure.

So, don't accept any GRANTS over the phone, and never give you bank account info out! Horrible lesson for me to learn-cost was $199.95 for the "TAX" on the Grant...You don't pay taxes upfront on grants either... Hope this helps someone else.
