I started working for this company back in early 2013. I completed a couple jobs for them and received payment per our contract payment terms. Mid-Late 2013 I completed a job and received communication that our QC check had passed and began waiting to receive payment. It took just shy of a year to receive payment for that job, but it finally came. I stopped accepting new jobs from HomeStar several months prior to receiving that payment.

A few months later I was contacted by Drew Johnston and begged to do a job for them that was in my area that they could not get anyone to do. I finally agreed to HELP THEM out and completed the job on time. I received an email back that the job had passed QC inspection and began waiting for payment to arrive. This job was completed early August 2014 and today I am still waiting for payment.

I have been getting the run around from Ben Hinke in the Accounting department for the past year. I was told they were burnt by one of their clients and although they had fallen behind on vendor payments they were working to get everyone paid and debts resolved. I have reached out to Peter Blonigen whom Ben Hinke states is the person who needs to give approval for me to receive payment, however he does not return phone calls or emails.

At this point, I am doubtful that I will ever be compensated for the work I completed for HomeStar. Everywhere I look on the internet I see stories of contractors that have been ripped off by this company. I feel like action needs to be taken against this company to shut them down. What they are doing has got to be illegal!?! They are taking advantage of small businesses all over the country. Simply put what they are doing is WRONG, UNETHICAL, AND ILLEGAL.

Fortunately, my business has survived this loss - I know others have not been so lucky. If you are considering working for this company BEWARE!!!
