The pedal arm wheel on my Reebok RL900 Elliptical (made by ICON) broke. After having already paid nearly $1,000 for the elliptical new from Costco, I was appalled when I called in to order a 3-inch replacement wheel and was told that the cost was $94.99. Then to add insult to injury, I was told that standard shipping was another $14.50. Again, keep in mind that this 3 inch wheel weighs less than a few ounces.
Now, I would be less upset this if the Elliptical where made in the US. (Today, unlike any other time, American's should support American businesses.) However, these parts, as with the Elliptical was made in China according to my serial number label. To charge a US consumer who has already purchased your product a ridiculously high price to fix your product is outrageous and something ought to be done about this.
The part number is 205979 and the model of the Reebok RL900 Elliptical is: RBE09950.

How did you replace the pedal arm wheel?

Hello,
I have the RL900 elliptical and need to replace a wheel. I've tried using two identical hex keys, with one gripped on one side, and the other being turned counterclockwise, but I just cannot seem to get the screw to come loose.
I don't think it is a matter of strength, because I can hold one hex key in place while trying to turn the other but then it just ends up slipping from the force.
Is there something I am doing wrong to take off the old pedal arm wheel and install a new one?
Any advice from you on how you did it would be muuch appreciated.
Thank you,
-Ivan

98 MM Scooter Wheel

Thank you so much for the suggestion to get the scooter wheel. I bought the Reebok Eliptical used for $250, so to spend $98 plus shipping seemed excessive. But the local Big 5 sporting goods store had the 98 mm wheels in stock (2 of them for $9.99) , and they fit perfectly! I'm again back and moving in the right direction.

I also was grinding my teeth about the $94 replacement wheel and came upon this link while Googling "reebok elliptical parts" I went right out to the garage and found my son's old Razor scooter. Bingo! It fit perfectly and appears to be identical. I'm back on my elliptical tonight. Thanks, guys.

Reebok RL900 wheel problem

I had the same problem with a broken pedal arm wheel. These wheels are the exact same as the wheels for a Razor push scooter. Go to a Razor accessories store or go online and you can buy two 98mm wheels for $9.99. Got mine at Big 5 Sporting Goods and fitted in minutes. Good way to save nearly $100.
