I contacted the owner of Last Mile Moving solutions to help with a move across town in December 2009.  Through emails, we agreed to an hourly rate for two movers (including a December discount).  A few days later, I received a follow up email confirming three movers (rather than the two that had been discussed).  I corrected Mr Annett, reminding him that we had agreed to two movers - and have the email where he acknowledges that that was the agreement.

The morning of my move, three movers show up - not two.  A fact that I did not realize at first, since I was still running around trying to get a few other last minute things done (loading fragile things into my personal vehicle).  I made the mistake of assuming that I would still be charged the agreed upon rate, since I had it in writing.  Either way, I figured what was done was done, and that it would go faster with the extra person, which could help lower the end cost (besides, what would the extra mover do if he wasn't moving stuff?  It's not like he could leave - they all came in the same truck).  I can only assume that was the reaction the owner was hoping for when he sent more movers than I had very clearly stated that I wanted in writing and on multiple occasions.

At the end of the move, I was presented with a bill that was dramatically higher than I had been quoted - and not just because of the extra person that was snuck into my house.  The hourly rate they tried to charge me was higher than the three mover rate that had been supplied to me as well (along with a list of prices for multiple combinations of men and trucks).  When questioned, the lead mover did change the hourly rate and recalculate - which helped - but I still ended up paying noticeably more than the quoted rate (plus a tip for the extra mover that I hadn't planned on).

The movers themselves did a very good job, and were very careful with my belongings.  It seems, however, that there is either a communication problem stemming from company ownership (that is, communication with BOTH employees and customers), or that there are intentional deceptive practices here.
