MBM is the worst moving experience I have ever had and I have moved at least 10 times.  Showed up late, didn't finish the job in one day, damaged significant amounts of my property and lost very large furniture pieces.  Customer service was evasive so required BBB and Attorney General contact to get them to respond.  Even then, did not get a suitable response.  You would be better off renting a UHaul and picking up some workers in the Home Depot parking lot.

Search the net for FMCSA and file a complaint.  

You will not receive any money, but you can at least be somewhat gratifide knowing that AMERICAN VAN LINES will be fined most likely for much more than you paid to them.

You are right!  It is better to get a u-haul and hire a couple of credible guys to do the transport than to risk moving with any moving BROKER company that is owned by AMERICAN VAN LINES.
