I had insurance with these crooks about 10 years ago.
We bought the top-of-the-line coverage, with maternity.
After my wife went into the hospital and ran up $5000
in medical bills, Mega covered nothing. That's $0.

Their claim adjuster said "I can't understand why the
salesman told you that."

If they call you, hang up.

These people are a bunch of crooks.

maternity?

AUTHOR: Newagent In Sacramento - (U.S.A.)

Please read the brochure -- most insurance plans do not cover normal births--if a medical emergency arises -- coverage applies. There is even a maternity rider (what did you think that might be for) in the presenting booklet.

The most important thing to remember is "read before you sign". We have policies ranging from base to beautiful. If you select the base plan and do not elect the additional riders offered due to cost then you get what you pay for. We offer no co-pay, no deductible unless you are hospitalized or have an outpatient procedure. It is true your household may incur up to three deductibles per calendar year, the state allowable, but if you wreck your car six times how many deductibles do you pay? If your home is damaged twice by a storm how many deductibles do you pay? It's insurance. Does your auto insurance pay you a daily benefit amount while your car is in the shop? We do, if you elect it. The association also offer a direct benefit if you select the premier membership. Break a bone, here's $750.00 to help cover your lost wages. Ask questions people, sure there are bad agents in every company but a good company like Health Markets will weed them out quick. We have over 600,000 members and I am reading 11 complaints. I really hope you open your mind and ask for a district manager to come out and visit with you or another agent, just to make sure you understand everything as presented. If you don't ask the question more than once isn't it possible that two people just misunderstood each other. Being trained by this company on the multitude of products we offer, I can tell you the most important thing they stress is help other people. If someone does not qualify for health insurance due to a condition don't shy away from them because the association membership can entitle them to a 20% to 60% discount on services and prescriptions. Teledoc can still help them. I can't sell someone with m.s. a policy but did I help them if I sold them a membership? You bet I did. I am not picking on m.s. people, I'm one of them. I can't get coverage with any company to my knowledge, unless it's a group. I know this company and I would not represent them if I did not believe in every product we offer. Don't let a misunderstanding keep you from the coverage you need. Ask more questions and read your policy. Make your policy work for you. Our CareOne plans allows you to shop for a doctor visit and know what you exposure is before you see a doctor or go to the hospital, no suprises. It also covers chiropractors and accupuncture, no co-pay. Some of the plans offer a true out of pocket maximum of $4,000 plus you selected deductible example $3,000. What is your exposure on a $250,000 bill, $7,000? You have to read your plan outline and when the policy comes, READ IT! We do offer a return of premium rider and it does exactly what the agents say it does. At age 65 it returns every penny, less any claims. Mega is not owned by the NASE. We have contracted them and they are subject to dismissal as was the company before them. Big corp. "A" gives Insurance Agency "X" $200,000 in premiums each month, does "X" risk losing that business? NO! If you are submitting $200.00 a month to non-membership required "X" are they worried about losing you? NO! We are a large group of over 600,000 members plus their family members. Is Mega going to risk losing our business? NO WAY! I hope I have shed some light on a few things for all those reading this. Any large organization can have a few bad apples, ask questions, read your policy, and don't sign anything that you do not fully understand. It doesn't help me, we get a small advance on future premiums, if you are not happy and cancel we pay that back. I want you to be my customer for life. The only way we as agents make money is if we are honest and earn your continued business. We are not selling big ticket items that don't require an on going relationship. We only exist if your happy. We do care and that is why Blackstone paid $2.8 billion for our company and we are not a publicly traded company so we don't have shareholders to answer to. HMO companies give doctors and hospitals allowances each month to spend on your "managed" care, and they get a bonus if they stay within the budget. Do you watch Dateline or 20/20. I am not slamming them because that is all some families can afford and that is valuable coverage to them. Insurance is designed to cover expences you cannot afford, what you can afford determines how much coverage you put in place. It is an agents job to get you the most bang for your buck. If you get a bad vibe from any agent go with your gut. That does not mean the company is bad,let the company know how you feel and that you would like to visit with another agent. The agent should have your needs in mind as well as your budget but they can't give you all the bells and whistles if you can't afford them. Some coverage is better than no coverage but upgrade when you can to lessen your exposure. The majority of our agents do care about you and will serve you well but there are those who serve themselves in any organization. If an agent spends alot of time with you answering all your questions they are earning your business. If they are pressuring you and you don't feel good about writing that check then don't do it. If you do then you have you to blame. Call customer care and ask about the CareOne Select or CareOne Plus plans. Good Health To You All.
