I ordered and paid for a helicopter from modelbuffs.com 21 weeks ago. The websites stated delivery will be 3-8 weeks. I have sent weekly emails to them. Somestimes it takes multiple emails to get a response. Everytime I threaten to protest the charge, ($300) they insist that the model is in the final stages of production and will be sent the following week. Yesterday I received a email from them saying it will be sent this week. Then today I get an email that they have had a typhoon and production will again be delayed. Others on the web have at least received a model plane from them, I have not. After five months of dealing with these people I'm done and will try to get my money back. The only reason I've waited so long is that the model was a personalized gift to my husband and I actually wanted the product. This is a total scam and from what I have read if you get anything at all it might be painted different than what they have on thier website. Don't waste your time or your money on this company. It will be more trouble than it's worth.

Sarah when you do actually receive your model make sure you check,

 1. paintwork, one of the models I eventually received had bubble paintwork on the underside of the model.
2. check the paintwork all over to make sure when they boxed it nothing
was left rubbing, when I got one of my models, again eventually, they
boxed it with the tail touching the inside of the box and the paintwork
rubbed off during its transport to me.
 3. check the two metal pins on the stand that plug into your model are straight, mine were not so I had to adjust them before the model will fit properly, it still doesn't fully fit.

Whilst I do not wish to deny certain of the claims made by the customer I would like to point out a few relevant facts as follows:-


  1. We do not publish 3-8 weeks production on our website - only "about" 8 weeks

  2. There were certain alterations that the customer required which required to to repaint the model which lead to the delays

  3. We experienced a serious typhoon in the Philippines during this period which totally devastated our premises and many of our models had to be made again from scratch
I admit that there was a breakdown in communications which I have taken up with the people concerned in our company and I fully take the responsibility for this issue.  I would however like to point out (without trying to make excuses) that we do work in a third world country which means that we are often confronted  by factors that would not be found elsewhere in the developed world. The positive side to this is however that we are able to offer handmade models at a price that would be impossible elsewhere.

The sad thing is that a site such as this deals with only the perceived  negative points leveled against our company but of course it cannot mention the thousands of happy and satisfied customers that we satisfy every year. Disappointingly just one report of this nature finds its way to the top of web search sites and does not represent the integrity and honesty of our company.

Anyway I'm please to report that we had a positive final outcome and that the model is now on its way to the customer after her (please see the attached photos of what I believe is a beautiful model) as follows:-
