My choce software is a third party seller of Micosoft "Microsoft Office 365". Upon ordering the software, I followed
their procedure of ordering. When ordering you are required to input the payment information and when
completed they send you an unlock key for the software before you can download the product. When
you try to download the software, it will not load. You only get a message stating that the software is not
compatible with my operating system and will not download. I tried to get the refund because I had no
program, they told me NO, because the key had already been issued and my tough luck that it did not
work. They did say I could use it on other units or upgrade my computer program to accomadate their software.
They told me that microsoft would not issue a rebate after the key was issued. I talked to Microsoft and they
have a not satisfied refund in 30 days policy and the refund would have to come from mychoicesoftware.
This software was never installed and mychoicesoftware refuses to reimburse the funds. They have the
carft before the horse situation. Had the download been completed before issue of the key unlock, I would
have known that this software not compatible with my operating system. I made the mistake of using a
debit card for the transaction and was unable to stop payment.

#1 UPDATE Employee ..inside information
How Office 365 Licensing works.
AUTHOR: ColtonW - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, September 17, 2015
Doyle,
I decided to go through and take a peek to see if we could figure out what happened with your order so we could work to ensure that the experience you had didn't happen to anyone else.
This is the break down based on our email correspondents with you.
March 9th,
You purchased a copy of Microsoft Office 365 Personal Edition:
Here is a link to our product page.
http://www.mychoicesoftware.com/products/microsoft-office-365-personal-pc-mac-android-apple-ios-1-tablet-1-pc-mac?dfw_tracker=8921-3195513601
Here are the requirements from the main description on the product page in question:
Get the full, installed Office experience on 1 PC or Mac, 1 tablet (including iPad) and 1 phone.
PC: Office 2013 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, and Access. Windows 7 or later required.
Mac: Office 2011 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. OneNote for Mac is available as a separate download from the Mac App Store. Customers with an active subscription will be entitled to the newest versions when available. Mac OS X 10.6 or later required.
iPad: Office for iPad versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. iOS 7.0 or higher required.
I've highlighted the minimum OS requirements that were displayed on the product page, Windows 7 or later, OSX 10.6 or later
The purchase was made despite this information clearly being displayed on the product page, your order then was processed by our team. And your licensing email was sent out. With the following in bold at the top of the email.
*ONCE ACTIVATED 365 PRODUCTS ARE NON REFUNDABLE* |
*NO WINDOWS XP OR WINDOWS VISTA* |
The reason we put this information on the licensing email before the installation instructions and product key is to make our customers aware that once the product has been activated there’s unfortunately no way to refund the order this is because of the way that Microsoft conducts business, they will not deactivate a license once it’s been tied to a customer’s account. Because of this we try as hard as we can to make it clear before any activation takes place. From what I can tell you had either Windows XP or Windows Vista. And unfortunately Microsoft has made it so Office 365 doesn’t work with these products. This is why we put as many warnings to stop the activation prior in case it turns out you have an incompatible system.
What options do you have now? Well you still do have a license tied to your Microsoft Live account, if you updated your computer you would be able to use the product on a different / newer system (windows 7 or higher). If you wanted to upgrade your computer we could get you a copy of windows at a discounted rate to upgrade your system, but depending on how old your computer is it might just make more sense to purchase a new one.
While I certainly understand your frustration, There were several warnings prior to your activation of the product letting you know there could be issues ahead, if you would have stopped and contacted our sales staff they would have helped you get setup for a refund, and get an older version of the office software that would work with your older computer.
Again I apologize and I certainly feel for your situation, but unfortunately due to Microsoft’s licensing guidelines we’re both put in an awkward position. If you’d like to contact me I’d be happy to chat with you about an Operating System upgrade or point you in the direction of a low cost replacement system so you can use your office license.
Thanks and have a great day!
