I'm a member of the Performax Gym located in Layton, Ut. All was going very well until the gym employed the services of National Fitness Financial Services for billing it's members fees.

In Sept the NFFS representatives contacted me to request I pay membership dues for the month of June. I had copies of the check I sent to the Gym (In June!)and agreed to send a bank copy of the check.

I was contacted the following week or so for payment.

I explained once again that payment had been made and the copy of the check was on the way...

The following week they called again. No, they insisted they had not recieved the copy.
So, I sent another copy with Septembers membership dues which was now due.
The next call I recieved had me mad as hell.
They wanted me to pay for June. (Say WHAT!?)
I told the representative (clearly and slowly ) I had sent the last copy with Septembers Check. Did she recieve that? Oh, yes, they got Septembers check, but ugh, no they they didn't get the June copy.... And if I don't pay for June they would turn the matter over to a collections agency for non-payment. The representaive had the audacity to lecture me on what non-payment would mean for my credit report.

So, I contacted the gym and let them know what was going on and they let me know that everything would be taken care of, etc..

Of course the NFFS rep must have lost that memo along with 2 copies of Junes cleared check because I got another call, and that's when I lost my composure, threatened to sue the company, cancel my membership completely with the gym and let them know exactly why.

Around two weeks later I got a letter from NFFS that said, and I quote, "It is unacceptable for you to end a telephone call without resolving the issue of payment"
I called the gym again and vented, at the point of completely losing my freakin mind I told them I couldn't take this anymore and am seriously considering my legal options because of the stress brought on by the company they have chosen to take care of their finances.

The National Fitness Rep (Stacey) hasn't harrassed me for about a month. Perhaps she is out of town on a valued customer service training seminar. I hope she and the miserable company she found a job with are getting prepared for court because it's only a matter of time before they find themselves being held to accountability for the very real emotional distress they have caused me and how many?
