On 08-17-10, I joined the club, signing a contract. According to the Charlotte club manager's handwritten note at the top of the contract, I was granted until 08-24-10 to cancel my membership, if postmarked by 08-24-10. On August 24 2010, I sent notice via postal service to cancel my membership. Notice was received, certified mail on 08- 26-2010. Company is not honoring the extension of cancellation, and is also harassing me via phone and mail. They are also requesting a monthly membership fee, and a fee of $44.99 for monthly dues. This is a substantial increase from the monthly due written on the contract, which is $29.99. They are stating that this account has been placed in collections. Member number 102912, barcode NF100615.
