We went to Cancun last August, 2013 and while buying tickets to Xcaret we were promised tickets if we attend a presentation on Occidental vacation club that will last 90 minutes, it ended up costing us the whole day. They gave a good sales spill and promised that weare buying a great timeshare, that we could even split our week to 3 days and 4 days, and That the usual resort that we stay-in in Florida (Encantada resort) was included in their group of resorts. They also promised easy reservations with personalized service that will help you with the hassle free reservations.

We put in 2K in downpayent but had buyers remorse after we got back home after reading a whole lot of complaints about Occidental vacation club, we tried to refund and had written to Profeco, Luis Namnum, Greta Sanchez, and Alberto Garcia. After a few emails that lasted weeks, They offered to double up my week. I made sure about asking about their poromises and agreed to keep it. With all these correspondence going on I always included the president, Mt Luis Namnum, because in their welcome packet, he said that if there are any problems, that members can contact him directly. He has not responded to any of the emails, and even to any of my direct messages to him.

Last Month, I tried to book in Encantada for March 17-20, but the reservations department told me that if I book for 3 days, I will lose my whole week because they dont have Encantada in their direct group( it's only an affiliate she said) and that it will cost me an extra $155 to book it, On top of that they don't even have Encantada's booking schedule, She got my number and told me that she'll call back in a few days, Guess what? it's been a month and still no return call. On November 15, I got in touch with Alberto Garcia to make a complaint that what they told me was very different from the truth, he told me that it would be easier to book something using RCI or Ice platinum rewards so that I don't lose my week. I couldn't believe all these lies but I still decided to trust them since I have already given them my downpayment and have paid my monthly fee. I told Alberto to book me for February 13-19 using the voucher they gave me, I had checked online that those days were available so I contacted him right away, He didn't work on it until yesterday (almost 3 weeks!) and then he tells me that it isn't available!

I am fed up with this company, I should have trusted my guts and just refunded then, I should have cut my loses then. They are all scammers and misrepresents what they sell, even the president luis namnum lies on his welcome letter, do not believe anyone who represents this company from the president to the sales reps to the rude and unattached reservations agents.

It's a shame because my kids liked their resort and is looking forward to spending some time in there.

I will be looking for other persons fooled by this company and will start a class action lawsuit against these scammers.

hey all this scam is real I was up till 5am last night on out first night back in Canada looking at this 10-1 ratio of scam to good deal, lots of people canceled some with more work then others, sales men are slick talking fast moving and will get you to buy sand off a beach, we thot we were good with it but more we looked in to it the more we realized we made a mistake!!!

we even mailed a cancelation letter but then the sales men talked us in to it again, and made us sign a letter asking to disregard THIS!!!! don't purchase huge scam!!

We are aware of this issue and have been in talks with the client. Fact of the matter is that the original booking request was made to the sales agent that processed the original deal instead of the Customer Service call center.  Though any contact should have a follow up by the time it got to the right department, the high season inventory (presidents week) was filled up.

As indicated in our documents and sales process our inventory is first come first serve basis, subject to availability. Nothing would please us more than to confirm every single request for a booking, but our units are limited.

The booking fee at the Encantada and the fact that is an affiliated property were documented and informed to the client prior to purchase.

We hate to see this type of liberal use of derogatory terms about the company, and harmful, irresponsible use of our professionals names as what could be construed as an attempt to circumvent normal and logical booking rules, accepted by the customer upon signature of our purchase agreement.

We do not agree with these tactics; we find them distasteful and harmful. Is clear to us that our Club is not for this client, we will therefore process with a cancelation of the membership and issue a refund to the member.
