Orbit Telecom Orbit Telecom allowed brother-in-law to scam me. Plantation Florida

Warning! Orbit Telecom lets anyone subscribe to their services without checking credentials. My substance abuse, unemployed brother-in-law who lives in another city was successful in creating an account by internet with Orbit Telecom at my expense! All he needed was to create an email address and provide "any" working phone number. (I am a female and my name is no where remotely close to sounding like a male's name.)

Orbit should verify the names on the accounts of the phone numbers provided to them before approving new services. I noticed for several months that my phone bill had increased approx $15.00; I didn't think much about it at first since I had recently changed some services with my carrier; however, after three months I became suspicious and looked at my phone bill more closely. Bingo!

There was a page titled "Enhanced Services" on my phone bill. There was a charge for $14.95 being billed to me on behalf of Orbit Telecom. I called the number provided on the bill to inquire about the charges as they were unfamiliar w/ me. I was told that I had been paying for this service for three months and I was given the name of the subscriber (my brother-in-law).

I asked how this could happen w/o my authorization and I was told that all a person needs to subscribe is a phone number and email address There are no checks and balances other than checking that the phone number is a working/valid number that can be billed for the service. I asked Orbit Telecom to close the account and issue me a refund for the current billing. Ripped off!
