The ad was in The American Legion Magazine. My dear friend sent in for the product, got it and surprisingly, it didn't work. He sent it back in, did get a refund, at least I will give them credit for that! But then he noticed his account being charged by a travel agency. He called the kind people at Quietus, and with some great difficulty got someone finally. They said he indeed authorized them to do this, and they had it on tape. My friend said "great, lets hear it!" And they said they would have to find it and get back to him,,,,which they never did. He had to cancel his account to get the unauthorized debits to stop. He was charged $160 total. I am acting on behalf of him to fight back. I am going to levy a complaint with the FTC and BBB, and USPS. I am going to petition the American Legion magazine to remove this ad. This is sad, to target military vets with tinnitus. The reason they got tinnitus is frequently because they were fighting wars so this owners of this lowlife company could sit safe and sound in their comfy dwellings and NOT fight a war. I plan to call this company in addition to my friend already calling them, and appeal to their better side, meanwhile, a little strongarming with some threats. I am going to encourage my friend to dispute these charges. Beware of this company. Tinnitus is not a curable condition!!! Dont' fall for any company that claims they can cure it....it just cannot be done.

Update: We got refunded

With a pretty large battle under our belt, we finally were able to get a full refund from all the unauthorized charges from the travel agencies. The Quietus manager said he was sorry and that "he did not like the way my friend was treated". Sure, did he apologize to the other gazillion people that were scammed and just kept quiet? We demanded to hear the tape and with reluctance they finally produced it. Upon hearing it, the extra charges from travel agencies HAD NOT been authorized. This company illegally shared my friend's ATM number with these agencies, bottom line! Nonetheless, with alot of time and constant pressure on this company to do the right thing, the right thing was finally done. Lesson learned, there are tons of scams out there, and, ALWAYS check your bank accounts daily for unauthorized charges.

Thank You!!

I am so grateful for your report. I have to admit I was intrigued by the ads I have heard on the radio. There is nothing about the price of this stuff on the Quietus website. It wasn't until I decided to check what others had to say about it that my suspicion was confirmed. I could not imagine what "natural" concoction (unregulated by the FDA, of course) someone could create. Maybe eye of newt and juice from pine needles? I have lived with my tinnitis for as long as I can remember and I would love to get rid of it, but I guess it's not going to happen. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving me the aggravation of sending away for an expensive product that doesn't work.

To update on what I have recently discovered. The company selling Quietus is Selfworx, which is also known for other scams for psoriasis and weight loss supplements. "Operation Big Fat Lie" pertains to the weight loss supplement scams.
