I rarely use the HSN or QVC to do any shopping, in fact, I can't remember the last time I ordered anything thru either of these companies. I do (however) order a fair amount on-line. Last night I saw a product on QVC (as I was flipping thru channels) that interested me and I felt could assist my wife and I in the kitchen. I noted the Product number and then went to our computer and went to the QVC website. I put in the correct Product number and then went to the Check-out. I tried to enroll as a New Account and was told that there was an existing account for my address. I then attempting to get the password sent to me using the email address they listed for "my" account. The email address is one that I use and have had for many years. After entering the email address I received a message that No Account could be found.

I cannot recall having a QVC Account and even IF I had one, there is no reason, other than lack of use, that I shouldn't be able to use it.

I then clicked on the Live Chat and the person that responded told me that "my" account was Closed and had been referred to the Fraud Dept. She could give me no other information but did tell me that I could not register a New Account nor could I order ANYTHING from QVC.

We have lived at this address for over 15 years...we are the only people who have ever used this address because we had the house built. We had adult children living here at certain times and we've had one or two guests to stay moderate lengths of time, but to our knowledge...NO ONE has ever used this address as a Fraud Address nor have we ever failed to pay for anything we've ordered either by phone or internet.

Clearly, we've done nothing to have this matter as a Fraud or Closed Account, but QVC has done nothing to correct this matter.

I recontacted QVC Live Chat this evening and was told the same thing. EXCEPT that the previous Chat Agent told me that QVC would phone me yesterday. That didn't happen. The Chat Agent tonight told me that QVC Fraud Dept would not contact me, rather, I would have to contact them by mail and that I would have to include the Account Number and other personal information in order to clear the matter up. I explained I didn't have an Account Number and I wasn't willing to give my personal information to strangers. He told me that he couldn't give me the Account Number and offered no other help whatsoever.

Check Your Credit Reports, File A Complaint With The FTC!

AUTHOR: S.n. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 24, 2006

Stephen, if QVC won't assist you, file a complaint with the FTC online. Send FTC a letter advising them that this is not your account and request proof of any account they claim that you have. Do not sign the letter, type or block print your signature. If this is on your credit reports, you need to dispute it with the credit reporting agencies. If you have not requested your free credit reports, you can do so at http://annualcreditreport.com. Good luck.
