RCA Credit FAKE company, FRAUDULENT service, completely BOGUS!! Don't WASTE your time with this SHAM business!! Ripoff Largo Florida

This is my story.

EVERYTHING you will read is 100% TRUE. The names have NOT been changed in order to EXPOSE the GUILTY!

Back in the Winter of 2006, I stumbled across RCA Credit.com since I had a dire need to improve my credit score.

As most of you know, the landscape is littered with numerous "credit-repair" agencies who offer to "clean-up" credit reports by disputing derogatory comments. However, the newest iteration are companies (like RCA) who promise to boost FICO scores not by removing the negatives, but by piggy-backing positive "tradelines" of seasoned credit onto your report by adding you as an "authorized user" to existing accounts.

Now, contrary to what some may believe (or even have posted here at Rip-Off Report) this practice is NOT illegal. The bureaus certainly DO know about this practice and some have even commented (favorably in fact) about it on their own websites.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is simply uninformed.

The guy I dealt with at RCA Credit told me his name is "Brady Wellington."

He told some ridiculous tale about his business doing so well that RCA Credit was opening a "call center" in the Philippines to field their multitude of customer inquiries. This story seemed very suspicious to me. RED FLAG number one. Then, I found it strange that whenever I dialed their toll-free number, the phone was never answered by a receptionist (or by one of their "call center" employees) but by Brady himself. RED FLAG number two.

This 'snake-oil salesman' was very glib and smooth, so against my better judgment, I decided to give RCA Credit's service a try. However, I did have a trick up my sleeve to protect myself. I paid RCA Credit with a family member's credit card, without revealing that person's name, but filled-out and signed all their forms with MY name. Then, I waited. And waited. For over two months. Beyond the time period where results were supposed to appear. But...nothing happened. NOTHING at all.

I was hoping for the best while fearing the worst, and wouldn't you know it, RCA Credit turned out to be a 100% FRAUDULENT SCAM.

Fortunately, I WAS able to dispute RCA's fees (and get the charges reversed) because of two main reasons:

1. RCA Credit did NOT have the name, or signature, of the authorized card user ANYWHERE in their documents so a lack of legal permission could be established.

2. RCA's own internal stupidity: They supposedly started their "work" weeks before they charged the card, so there was a shorter window of time between when the charges were made...and later disputed.

I count myself extremely lucky to successfully get the charges reversed and money returned. However, not everything is good news. In fact, I still have much to be worried about.

Besides routinely asking for ALL of a person's identifying information (name, birthday, SS#, etc.), RCA Credit requests a copy of a new client's current credit report. Can it get any easier for a criminal to commit Identity Theft?

I realize it is possible to put an "ID Theft alert" onto my credit report, however, doing this makes obtaining new credit very difficult and inconvenient. However...this may be my only resort to obtain some peace of mind. So, as you can see, I do not emerge from my experience with RCA Credit completely intact.

My sincere wish is that through these public forums, and wonderful websites such as Rip-Off Report, no one else becomes RCA Credit's latest victim.
