RJM ACQUISITIONS FUNDING Collecting For Fingerhut ripoff SYOSSET New York

I recently ordered copies of my credit reports from all three reporting agencies. One of them had a "collections" account for $296.00 from RJM ACQUISITIONS FUNDING, collectiong for Fingerhut.

I had had an account with Fingerhut in the early 90's, but had no balance and had not ordered anything since.

I reported this to the credit agency and disputed it. Apparently the way they deal with a dispute is to ask the company to check their records. Of course they verified the debt and so it stays on my report.

Now I don't know what to do to get this off of my credit report. I will call them, but it will take some research because they did not provide a phone number or any contact information.
