Santa Lucia Security Company S. A. ripoff Madrid Spain

I am extremely annoyed that people can be part of such an evil scam. When I received a letter telling me that I had been approved "for a lump sum payout of USD 615,810.00" I was very happy. After receiving the letter I called "MARTIN JUAN" on +34-610-681-982 (a mobile number). Given the fact "JUAN" is a Spanish name I expected "MARTIN JUAN" to have a Spanish accent; this he did not have. After speaking with him I called Scotland Yard; they put me through to my local police station. The lady I spoke with at that station told me it was probably a scam and she told me that if the company had my address why could they not send a cheque to me, instead of asking for my account details. Good question! After speaking with her I called good old "Juan" again and asked him to forward a cheque to me. He told me he would do this provided I faxed him evidence of My I.D. (he mentioned my passport or driver's licence). I then felt that this man was trying to steal my identity. With this in mind, I checked the web and found other complaints about this company.

I do not know if the authorities are on to this. All I can do is forward the letter I received to the relevant authorities. I advise all those who have received mail from these companies to not bin them; they could contain vital information, such as fingerprints and DNA, that could lead to catching members of this criminal ring. Who knows, if they are brought to justice maybe we can claim compensation; we certainly deserve it.
