Scottrade $75 Account Closure Fee international USA

Traded successfully with Scottrade for just over ten years.  No problems with transactions.  As another complaint mentioned, they play fast and loose with prices but so do all the other brokerage houses.  I've had them all at one time or another.  Scottrade was much better about delivering notifications about companies and ETFs than other brokerages. 

I closed my account because of personal circumstances and a desire to consolidate accounts into managed funds.  I was very satisfied with Scottrade. Until now.  I had thousands of $7 trades over the years.  When I closed my non-retirement account, they charged a $75 fee. 

My account had been cash for over 30 days.  There were no trading fees.  In retrospect, I should have moved all the money into the banking account I had with Scottrade and just written a check.  

I contacted them and haven't heard from them as yet. It's a disgrace.  Traders be warned.  A $75 fee today could become a $200 fee tomorrow.  Seems like Scottrade just charges whatever they can. They certainly don't respect long-term customers.
