The identity theft insurance provided by Scottrade doesn't work (the phone number and sign up page will not access my information) and even if it did work it is only for 1 year and is not retroactive. Scottrade was hacked over two years ago and Scottrade thinks it is appropriate to provide 1 year of NON-RETROACTIVE identity theft insurance that leaves a two year gap, where customer are uninsured and have potentially dealt with very serious cases of identity theft.

Scottrade was hacked two years ago. And you want the identity protection to be retroactive???
NO company can provide retroactive odentity protection. What has happened in the past has already happened and can not be changed. All they would have to do would be to say "Okay we provided the protection. Nothing happened, see how good we are?"
However, since apparently no identity theft has occured in these two years since the hack, a very realistic reaction is one year of free indentity theft protection. This will tell you if some one tries to use your info.
And to let you know, NO I don't work for them.
