I also received this letter with the cashier's check for $4992.00. I called the lady and she said for me to deposit it into my bank and then call her back for my assignments Well it just sounded too good to be true so I serviced the phone number on the letter and of course it was a cell phone out of Canada yet the bank was out of Oregon.

So I called I called the number on the check for the bank. That number verified that funds were available however when I looked the bank up on the internet the number on the check was not their number. I went and talked with my banker and instructed her to deposit the check, but to not put any of the money in my account unless it fully cleared.

Well you know that the check do not clear and if I had just had my bank cash the check I would have been out of a lot of money! I tried calling the lady b ack, but of course now she will not come to the phone.

First clues:
Envelope was hand written.
The post mark was Canada, but the letter said that they were in Ashley, ND
Why would a company just send out a check for $4992.00 to just anyone
The numbers on 411.com pulled up two different cell phones from Canada that were with two different carriers
People this check is not good!!!! It looks good and the thought of it being good is so enticing, but PLEASE don't fall for it! You will be out of pocket for $4992.00 when your bank comes back and says that it doesn't clear.

I really think that the number on the check for the bank goes to the same lady. I can't say for sure, but even on the day that the check didn't clear that lady told me that funds were available. I believe this to be the same lady as the one for Service Probe or it could be her partner. Either way I hope that this helps somebody from making a hugh mistake. I can only pray that they research it before they run to the bank.
