First I have read this church has no affiliation to the real St. Matthew's Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a RIP OFF church. I recently got a letter stating anyone can recieve a free cross. So, I filled out the form sent it in and the bulk junk mail began. Every other day I get mail from them wanting money! In the past I fell for this scam. I had sent them $10.00 and received even more junk mail from them. Almost a letter everyday wanting more and more money! I did write them a letter asking where the money goes beings it's "nonprofit" and of course I got no response to that but yet another letter to send even more money! There is no physical address of course only a P.O. Box. I guess I should have taken this as a warning. Also, I have been hearing about this church all over the internet. People like me falling for their scam. Why is this company still allowed to operate. I say company because I doubt it's a church. Oh, and also I remember when I was very young and my mom worked stuffing envelopes from home. Guess what was the number 1 company.....St. Mattthew's churches!!!! Kid you not!

This scam has been a known scam for 25-35 years or so.
I remember hearing about it as a scam in my teen years (Im now 50)..
I also actually remember several churches initially supporting it.
Most (not all) dropped their support of the idea when it was found and proved that it was in fact a scam.
I even know of people who worked locally to open his mail here and deposit the $$ and/or do the work.
Nearly any socalled prayer cloth or product for prayer is a fake setup.
Even the legit ones are just asking you to give $$ to help them spread the word.
I would rather:
Trust a local known chariety or church.
Or buy a book the church sells (a book or similar is obviously selling product and is aok as its not a lie).
What I wish people would do, is before the give $$ they should always check the outfit out.
As a rule I dont ever contribute to anything outside local except for my taxes.
