I too have received letters from Saint Matthews Churches or Prayers By Letters.
In the first letter they had sent me they sent me a paper that looked liked a rug that I was suppose to kneel on and say this special prayer enclosed and then I was to send it back with a seed. This first letter I sent them $10.00.
The second letter I received was just like the first one, but only this time it said to take The Old Testament Sandal (Moses' Shoe) and pray over it and than put it in your the Bible overnight in Psalm 23 and than in the morning mail it back to them with a seed. The thing that caught me is they use your name through the whole letter..
That next morning my inner voice told me to go on line and check it out to see if this church is a scam and here I found letter's from other people who have been scammed from this church!
This is really sad! These people really need to be stopped!!
In closing, I hope that others will learn from my mistake. I'm asking that others be aware of receiving anything through the mail asking for money from any churches unless you know the church.

Nope its not about faith

Nope, its not about faith...its about common sense.
For one, its extremeely easy to verify the fact that this guy is a scam.
Also, giving him $$ is not enriching god ... as a matter of fact, doing so makes one a part of the scam and equally evil.
Just like our freedoms in which some of those freedoms come responsibility...so does faith.
Faith should always be coupled with reason & common sense . at least in the context of how to handle some stuff.
For example, if you had a known murderer, who obviously will not repent or otherwise change and will kill again... are you going to associate with him (since you would likely be his next victim).
In this case, giving this guy $$ for any reason makes that giver part of the scam whether knowingly or not.
Since the scam has been known for at least 35 years.... and its been all over the internet... common sense here.
The faith I think the above responder is thinking of is BLIND FAITH which is even more knowingly wrong.. BLIND FAITH is the very type of faithful that SATAN loves to manipulate.
The best way to handle this kind of thing, is instead do the obvioulsy local & free stuff that is extremely well known and very reputable.

I have received and am still receiving letters from them. I believe these letters are about faith. You do these things as an act of faith to God. And God sees that. That's what faith is, isn't it? They have sent me several letters that didn't ask for any money. They just want to pray for me. And it seems that I always receive a letter from them when I am at my low points. All I'm saying is just for everyone to look at it from my point of view. When you've tried turning to everything under the sun for answers, like I have, things start to look up when you get letters that help you think about things in a more positive way. I think these people are sent from God as a test, whether they are scam artists or not.
