Take Three Nights This company solicited by email, the Take 2 Nights vacation using the YTB coach as the drawing card. I once was affliated with YTB as a travel consultant, so I thought it was legitimate. I spoke to a young man by the name of James and he offered the Premier Package of $389.00 for two separate vacations including a $50 dinner certificate and $40 gas card with the upgraded package. He informed me of the many different destinations including International spots. I purchased the upgraded package as a birthday gift for my husband, and together we decided to take two vacations - the first to Hilton Head. When I contacted the 800-566-8261, the young lady said I would be contacted by a representative who would make my reservations. Kevin Ryan of 941-552-7885 ext. 1007 called me nearly a week later. I gave him the dates that I wanted to travel to Hilton Head, and he looked up some places and said that for an additional $130 per night, he could get me into a better hotel, and asked for my credit card. I declined the upgrade, and he then told me he had something in another town about 12 miles from Hilton Head. I told him I wanted to be in Hilton Head, as is described on their lovely brochure. That was more than 2 weeks ago, and I haven't heard from him since. I was planning to call today to make reservations for a trip to Maine, but I stumbled on this "Ripoff Report" page, and realized that this is a scam, and I would also like to be refunded the monies I gave them.
When I contacted the representative that was assigned to me, he tried to get me to pay an additional $130 per night for 3 nights to stay in a hotel in Hilton Head, SC. When I declined, he told me he could get me into a hotel in a town that is approximately 12-13 miles away from Hilton Head. When I declined and informed him I wanted to be in Hilton Head, he said he would get back to me. He never got back to me with any other hotel accommodations in Hilton Head.
Today I had planned to contact Take Three Nights to arrange another vacation and inquire about my Hilton Head destination as well, but after reading some of the "Rip Off" reports, I realized this offer was just a scam. I called, and was transferred to my representative, Kevin Ryan at 800-566-8281 (his direct line is (941) 552-7885 ext. 1007). Kevin was very casual about my announcement that I was dissatisfield, had planned to cancel the plan, and had already contacted my credit card company and informed them of my dissatisfaction with the service or lack of service that I received from Take Three Nights.
I am in agreement that they are sophisticated"scam" artists. The brochure and website are impressive, but the actual service stinks.

#4 Consumer Suggestion
Don't lie.

My advice to Three Nights to resolve the issue here involves actually listening to the customer complaints they get. There are many just like this. If you advertise a trip to a destination, and offer it as a choice to someone, it needs to actually be an available option. Otherwise, that would be false advertising.
Offering someone accommodations at a nearby place, or to charge them for staying in the destination you offered, is completely unacceptable. Acting like this customer was somehow difficult because she expected the company to do what they said they were going to do is so rude and unprofessional. If you offer someone a trip to a specific destination, it is your responsibility to make sure you actually have the accommodations available.
If you cannot, this needs to be stated early on in the process, in writing and on the pushy initial phone contact, that although the destinations are listed, some aren't actually available. Will this make less people buy from you? Of course. Bc nobody wants a vacation almost in Hilton Head, or almost in Vegas, or almost in Chicago. But at least you wouldn't be lying just to get people to sign up. Also, just giving a refund is not sufficient.
The customers take time off of work based on the information they're given, and get emotionally invested in going on the trip. Then, it is all a lie. So, you want a pat on the back for giving their money back? No. Sorry. That is not what this company deserves for what is (obviously from the casual, matter-of-fact nature of the response,) a step above illegal baiting.

It would be interesting to see if this company actually refunds your original purchase. I am not holding my breath as this type of scam has been around for a very long time. Check FTC.gov about how to recognize these scams.
I sincerely hope you cancelled through your credit card company so you don't lose your funds.

Ann B., we apologize for the delayed response on this post. This report was recently brought to our Communication Team’s attention. This matter has been resolved and this post is for informational purposes only.
Report and Resolution:
When you were making your arrangements with your Travel Counselor, Kevin, he was unable to complete your request for the package you purchased in Hilton Head. This was due to our allotment of rooms and availability for your requested travel dates. We take our commitment to customer service very seriously, so when Kevin was unable to secure accommodations for you he immediately looked at alternative options. One was at a property just outside of Hilton Head and the other called for an upgrade fee. You declined both of these options.
When you got in touch with Kevin to inform us you would like to cancel your package and receive a refund, we immediately passed this information along through the proper channels and issued your refund the following day. We were, and still are, truly sorry you were not satisfied with our services.
