I want to start a career in the IT field and found techskills.com online. I did a "campus" tour and was feeling urgency to get job related skills. So I went to tech skills and eventually passed my first certification, but...

I found that the teachers were not interested in helping but just pursuing their own certifications which they get to do for free by "teaching" there. As another reviewer from another state said, the tech labs are a joke. Strip down and old computer and look at the parts and put it back together and that's all you get. Go to the goodwill and do it yourself and save 3-12k.

The "teachers don't want to help or be bothered." Definitely pay half the price and go to a community college program. Most of the students here are just milking the system and the gov't by getting fed aid and goofing through it.

Not all the students are bad and some are quite serious but overall they would be much better served at a real institution that isn't trying to do as little as possible to get gov't money. I'm not saying its not possible to get certified but most of their advertising is jargon and they don't live up to what they promise ie. real experience from their labs and real knowledge through hands on practice.

Further they advertise 90% first time success rate on certs and promise to pay for your next test if you don't pass the first time. However, they don't follow this policy "because too many took advantage and didn't study" Well what is it? 90% first time pass rate or not? The answer is obvious.

I could go on but I think the gist is clear. I wish I had read this before enrolling. Best of luck in you own education goals!
