We moved to Arizona from out of state and signed a one year lease on a property through the Golba Group. The property we leased was only semi-managed by Golba Group in that they handled the lease and property turn-over, however, monthly rent collection and maintenance was handled by the owner.

We paid our rent on time monthly and had no problems in the home for the term of our one year lease. At the termination of our lease, we decided to move out of the neighborhood and into a better area with better schools. We gave 60 days notice and I personally spent two days straight cleaning the property until it was in better than new condition. The home was without question in better condition than when we acquired it. We did a walk-through with one of their agents who told us that the home was the cleanest she'd ever seen; she even thanked us for leaving it in such perfect condition and told us how much easier it made her job. She noted that the property was in move-in condition as it stood.

A week later, we called them to see the status on the refund of our security deposit and they informed us that they were planning to keep all of it! There was NO DAMAGE to the home and it was in spotless condition. Not just "broom clean"- sparkling.

They are trying to charge us to repaint the entire home, even though the home had never been painted in the six years since it had been built. This is completely illegal and totally unethical. The paint was not destroyed or damaged- not even really dirty...just typical wear and tear and six year old CONTRACTOR'S paint (which is horrible quality).

The women in this office are UNBELIEVABLY rude and arrogant. The condescension and unprofessional attitude they display is truly appalling. Aside from their terrible treatment of us, they are out and out thieves- trying to keep this deposit is outrageous and completely illegal and now we will be forced to take the matter to court. Luckily, we took tons of pictures to document the condition of the home and have kept all of our correspondence with them in writing. I am shocked and disgusted with this company and their unethical business practices. Shame on them!
