I bought this door at home Depot.I have this door eight years and in this time the bottom corner of the door has rotted away. I had the distributor come and he took pictures of the rot with a cellphone (really professional). He informed me that the ThermaTru company will not honor the 20 year warranty. Shame on them. Thankfully with todays technology I can share my bad experience with any future customers.

Maintenance is required by the homeowner to prevent rot on any wood component including the edge of the door. Additional maintenance items include replacing corner seal pads which assists in preventing water infiltration as well as caulking all wood components. The frequency of these maintenance items is dependent upon the exposure that the door system receives.
