We bought a 2001 Blazer and from 35,000 miles until now we have had problems.

We took the Blazer into service shop in Aug 2003. They supposedly fixed it but when I went to get in the blazer it was making a noise that was not there before. The service guy who helped us had suddenly gone to lunch and so I took the Blazer home that day. I did tell one of the other guys about the problem before I left and he gave me a dumb look and handed me his service card. Whatever!

Now when we took it back in the next week they did something else and we had to pay another deductible! So in 7 days we forked out $400. The problems just kept happening.

We took it back in Aug 2004 and the warranty was out on it. So $950 out of our pockets.

Sept 2004 we took it in again because of a knocking. Well, they come back and quoted us $4500 to fix it. We had to have another vehicle because of my husband works out of town. So we bought another car which we got totally screwed on in financing.

The neck twister here is that we had the blazer towed to another mechanics shop and it cost us $175 !!!
I have paper work on both what Vandergriff quoted me and the receipt of the other shop. So we now have a 3rd vehicle that we really didn't need and we are stuck. Do you think these people care? NO! I don't know how they sleep at night.

Well jennifer, On extend warranties you pay a deductable on each job that is covered ( read your contract completely not what your told) And if the 2nd time you brought it back was it for the same problem or different problem? When you were quoted $950.00 a year after and a differant problem, well then it wasn't the same problem or you had other things repaired along with the problem. I've worked on automobiles for 30 years in dealers and indepenant shop's. A indepenant shop will most always be cheaper. The guy is only human working on your car and in chevy dealers they are specialized departments that your car goes too. Some Techs don't come across problems every day like they do at indepenant shops because we are more so rounded on working on one car doing everything on it. I bought a truck there last July and had fair credit and they worked very hard to get the best financing they could get, and they did too instead of 10%I had financing for they got me 9.5% with gmac So I don't believe you got screwed in the finance oof the new car you bought, Because if you felt you got screwed then you should have tried to get a better interest rate your self.
Last word Read all infomation in front of you and ask questions, Also customers don't tell the service writer all the info of what their car is doing because they think a tech have a crystal ball and figure it out themselves. It's just doesn't work that way.
