How many times have you been late to work, called in, just not shown up, ect.... As a former manager of a resturant, I had to deal with all kinds of excuses and stories as to why people never showed up or were late or had to switch schedules... maybe your manager just didnt believe you. If your work ethics were good and there was no reason for them to not believe you, then they are heartless. You shouldnt want to work with them.

So you had to leave your job in the middle of the night, for just 4 hours? No big deal right? If this weren't a rampant culture within all Waffle Houses it would almost be believable.

I'd like to understand how you discovered your husband on your "break". There aren't any scheduled breaks given while you work, as most stores aren't busy as they are staffed with people like you. I'd suspect you probably ran across the street to the motel you were staying at while working there to bring unpaid for food, or money that you skimmed by not ringing it up to provide him with even more drugs.

Get real, tell the truth and stop blaming the company for your misfortune. Then you might be able to find a job where you can leave whenever you feel like it, like maybe the road or public works department.
