I was employed by Wal-Mart from June 2006 - September 1 2006, during their recent remodel @ store #1488. I was on their 3rd shift team.
The person who was "in charge" of 3rd shift didn't know what he was doing. We ended up re-doing task several times. There were several times that he wouldn't let us clock so that we could just start working. That is where the problem started.
My checks were NEVER 100% right, but the last month, that I was employed there, was completely screwed up. On my last check, I should have been paid for a total of 88 hours. I was only paid for 60.
I encountered SEVERAL problems, other than payroll problems. Shortly after starting the remodel, I found out I was pregnant.
Seeing as how the person in charge was a MAN, he didn't understand why I couldn't do certain things and KEPT insisting that I do everything.
I eventually suffered a miscarriage and was told by the dr that it was very likely due to my work. I suffered problems after the miscarriage that he cared nothing about, and threatned me with the loss of the job if I didn't go back to 100% perecent.
If I'd had any idea that Wal-Mart had gotten WORSE as far as how it treats it's employees, I would have NEVER went back.
I have tried since September to get things corrected and every time that I call, I get the "run around". Nobody will return my phone calls.
Anyway out there know of a good lawyer ?

OK guys, here is something for this "employee" John from Walmarts Home Office to respond to: I work for a major vendor in Walmart stores nationwide, and know many people within Walmarts corporate structure in Bentonville. In fact, we have offices right across the street from Walmart Bentonville.......I printed off these postings and walked them right over to Lee Scotts personal secretary, and this guy is just a flamer......the OP should stick to her guns, contact her states wage and hour folks, and take this report with her.......lets put this to bed!! This guy is just stirring the pot here. A real idiot, that has likely nothing to do with Walmart other than being a floor sweeper or bathroom scrubber!

On the internet, anyone can be any thing the person wants to be. Think about it readers, do you really think that John is what he says he is? There is no way that anyone of position with Walmart would come onto this site and post a comment as such. No one would risk their job like that. It is just someone else that is throwing fuel, on the fire of hate, that many has towards WallyWorld.
In real-life, a person may be nothing more than the neighborhood punk, but on the internet, they can make believe that they are anything they want to be, a cop, doctor, lawyer, educated, rich, intelligent, or even a operations manager at Walmart. That is how some people get their thrills. Ignore the wacky ones.

Gee John you're really smart, issuing a threat in front of only a few million readers, and in print!
I doubt Walmart would actually condone this activity and probably fire him knowing that he's issuing threats.
Maybe someone should forward this to Walmart HR, and let them see how one of their "loyal" employees is about to cost them millions!!

The more this guy opens his mouth or writes, the deeper he digs himself. He's going to make your life a living hell? Sounds like a threat to me! Keep copies of everything and document everything that happens from now on. And give a copy of his rantings to the Wage & Hour Division as well, just so they can see the idiot with whom they're dealing.
Immature little brats like him need to learn that they can't go around threatening people like that. (Gonna sue me, too, so-called "Manager" John?) What a buffoon!
And as Wal-Mart is already involved in lawsuits regarding nonpayment of overtime, it's pretty obvious whom they're going to believe.

My suggestion to you is to just forget about the hours Wal-Mart owes you. Chalk it up to a lesson in business and move on with your life.
The fact is we are not,repeat not going to pay you. Your work record at Wal-Mart was less than satisfactory and that has been documented. You were warned on numerous occassions that you must shape up to continue in your employment with Wal-Mart
Your conduct while employed at Wal-Mart was also less than satisfactory. You used racial slurs against other associates and were warned against this on several occasions.
If you continue your whining to the Wage and Hour Division, the Unemployment Office or any other government agency, we will make your life a living hell.

In response to John W. Beauford Assistant Manager of Operations report. You are the dumbest thing on two feet. As for the person working for Stinkmart well as long as its the truth. There is nothing that stinkmart can do about it. File a complaint with wage and hour division of your state. Gather evidence from other employees. Stinkmart needs to obey the wage and hour laws like any other company.

There is nothing to sue for. The OP made statements based on actual occurences as she percieved them. her opinion of you is just that. Her opinion. Again, nothing to sue for.
Did you know it is illegal to coerce or force employees to work "off the clock"? Did you know that WalMart has a documented history of doing this?
John, think about this. If this person was working at WalMart, she obviously is in poverty os approx 70% of Wal Mart employees live below the poverty level. And, it is unlikely that she actually owns anything. Furthermore, you CANNOT garnish unemployment compensation in a civil matter. Only the IRS and other federal debts can be taken out of unemployment.
So, exactly what would you gain in a lawsuit? Let me answer that for you. NOTHING. You are a moron. There, now you can sue me too.
Jody, just file a wage claim with the wage and hour division in your state. print off a copy of this report and take with you. It will show the malicious attitude and behavior of this "manager".
And, if you had your medical condition documented and had restrictions, it is YOU who have the valid lawsuit against John personally, AND WalMart. FYI.. As soon as you file a lawsuit against WalMart, the manager involved is fired immediately. I know this for a fact.

I intend to call my lawyers and file suit against you for libel and slander against Wal-Mart.
