My husband and I ordered a couple of clothing items from Walmart.com on October 11, 2008. Upon clicking the submit order button we realized we didn't change the shipping address. The address it was being shipped to was for a previous order we place the week before.

I immediately contacted customer service and was connected to the dumbest customer service representative I have ever had the misfortune of speaking with in my life. She was basically a programmed robot.

I explained to her we had just placed an order but we failed to change the shipping address. Mind you this was in a span of 15 minutes. She directed me to look at my order and click the cancel button. I told her I didn't wish to cancel the order; all I wanted was to change the shipping address.

She told me there was no way to change the address. I asked her how is it possible that "Customer Service" could not change an order status/address when the order was just placed. She replied by telling me that it was Walmart's policy. I continued to explain to her that we were in NJ and the order was going to go to Virginia.

It didn't matter to her and she just kept repeating that our order was being processed. Finally it arrived in Virginia and was kindly returned to a local Walmart Superstore by the people who received it. Of course we couldn't get our credit card refunded and were given a cash refund, excluding the shipping.

I attempted to cancel the order after I hung up on her but out of 10 items ordered only 4 were able to be canceled. I think that Walmart has the worst Customer Service, not to mention their "Policies". I will never shop at walmart again. I hope that when enough people experience an inconvenience shopping on Walmart.com they will boycott it too.

No ripoff. Customer is reponsible for correct shipping address.

The Walmart customer service rep did not do anything wrong. If the company's ordering system has created an order and the order is pending processing, then you can only cancel the order, you cannot change the credit card number or the shipping address.

How are the employee of Walmart thieves?

You are upset because their product ordering system would not allow you to change you shipping address after the order was completed. Unless you work for Walmart's information systems department and you know how Walmart's customer ordering database is programmed then you don't know what their ordering system can do and their customer services reps can do.

No, I do not work for Walmart. I am just tired of people complaining of a ripoff when they do not understand store policies or website ordering screens.
