I applied online after picking-up a very slick, professional looking large laminated card at a Western-Union mail depot in Corona, Ca.
I applied with a very professional-looking website at www.ineedcashnow.net.
After logging-in, one of the first things they stated was to apologize for my social security number. but that it was necessary to check me with. I was very hesitant at first, but went ahead.
After getting a phone call today, June 8, 2008, I thought was from them, I was told by an automated system, that I was approved for $1500.00-$2510 cash advance.
I was also told that I could answer a 3- minute automated process and that a unsecured visa card, if I was apporved, would be deposited to me by June 28th. I thought this rather "fishy" and said no. The voice said they would call me back in 30 minutes and/or call 888-649-5199. I called and it is no longer in service.
I called back who called me at 877-807-4696 and voice said if I didn't want this service to push "2" for no, which I did. I went to internet and found complaints about Wilshire Consumer Credit linked to www.creditterms.net/and 877-807-4696 - I am now worried because this abusive operation has my social security number! What should I do? I am sorry, I do not have bold-face type on my toolbar! Thank you!!!!!!

If you recieved something that stated Wilshire, and it was offering you a loan.. well it is not from the Mortgage Servicer. Wilshire Credit Corp., located in Beaverton, OR is a mortgage loan servicer. When people apply for a loan, the loan may be transferred to a servicer to service loans. (They are like the babysitter)They do not loan money of any kind. They do not need your ss#, because if you applied for a mortgage and they are servicing it, then they have all of your original documents on file. What was stated before in the previous rebuttal probably did not apply to your situation, that was from someone who signed and agreed to an ARM, and is now mad because she didn't take the time to read loan docs., or didn't understand them. She WILLINGLY mailed in her financial information to apply for a hardship and ask the company to take a financial loss on her mortgage because she probably wasn't prepared to pay once the interest rate adjusted. That is all that Wilshire does, it doesn't deal with ANY lending, especially credit cards.
I would question what happened to you as well. Really the only thing that I would suggest is to maybe enroll in a service that will watch your credit and monitor loans taken out in your name, or anyone trying to use your ssn. My credit card company offers one. Another one is "life lock".
I hope that helps. I can 100% guarentee however that Wilshire Credit Corp., from Beaverton Oregon was not who contacted you. In my experience also, anyone who calls you to offer you credit, I would consider a scam, unless it is a company that you already have credit with. (and they already have your personal info.)

Be thankful this is all they have of yours. For thousands of us they have bank info, W-2's. tax returns, bank statements, drivers license, etc. We were led to believe they would help us and that is why they have all this personal info but in reality they never were going to help us. Get rid of that card. Cut it up. Do anything but never, never use it because if you do they then own you.
I have all the paperwork about Wilshire from step 1 when they first opened until now and it took a lot of research to get that. This company is a sham.
It really is a shame because there are some people working there who are real nice and I am not sure why they continue to work there. I do however, stand by what I stated before which is that Wilshire employees who are knowingly doing wrong are just as guilty as the company they work for. I anxiously wait for the day when I see the feds walk in and lock them up!! I know it will happen soon!! It's just that if they did it tomorrow that wouldn't be soon enough!
Get rid of that card. If you don't you will wonder why you did not listen to me.
