YTB is the best business to have. You will invest less money than any small businesses. I am an RTA and I know that this is not a Scam! Why? YTB sells a product. Scam just takes away your money. Those who say that YTB is scam, they have to stay on business a little more. Tell me if you can buy a franchise or a small business for $500. YTB is a legal business. It has Bill of Rights! Give me the proof of YTB being a scam. By the way the whole America is based on a Pyramid like any person's job. You have a boss, you've got few more people in the middle and low class employees. If still not sure about it, then look at the back of the 1 Dollar Bill, and you'll see the picture of the Pyramid! Thank You.

#4 UPDATE Employee

reps don't work hard

AUTHOR: Tommytrip.com - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 28, 2009

I think one of the reasons that 80% of the reps in YTB do not make any money is because they do not work it. Reps are able to join YTB for free, and it seems as if the majority of the people who sign up for free don't do anything. I know I have a total of 4 people under me who signed up just as a rep and not as an RTA or both. All 4 people have not made a single cent even after multiple attempts on my part to help get them started. I think it boils down to one thing...how are you supposed to sell a product that you yourself do not use? A rep cannot sell travel, only travel stores, but how is someone supposed to sell a business when they do not own the business themselves? Personally I don't think you should gauge your own success on what others have done. Just because 4 people in my team haven't made any money, doesn't mean that I should expect to make no money as well, and you shouldn't either.

ytb IS a total scam

AUTHOR: Laforge1701 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 27, 2008

Do some research. Why not actually read YTB's own financial disclosure.

http://www.ytb.com/downloads/YTB_IncomeDisclosure_2-8-08.pdf

I especially like the part in the summation that says..

The average annual income for all Reps in 2007 was $299.95, and the median annual income for all Reps in 2007 was $97.00.

In 2007, 80.92% of all Reps received no income at all.

Do more research

AUTHOR: Spartan - (U.S.A.)

Akmal,
It seems clear to me that you have not done a lot of research on this company, or other MLM's for that matter. There are many other MLM's that can be started for 500 or less.
I do not completely agree with Robin, who says that $500 is a lot. If you were to build a website, it would cost you more than that. However, YTB is not building your website, they are just customizing one. This is a process that other MLM's do for free.

I do completely agree with you as to the pyramid and a regular job. All the money is always made at the top, in any area of life. I wouldn't expect to be paid as much as Tiger Woods if I tried to play golf. He's MUCH better than I am, so of course he should make more money!

However,

In your comments about it not being a scam, I am not so sure about. You are correct, YTB has a product that it sells. However, it is not what most people are led to believe. YTB's product is the sale of it's websites to new recruits. I know this may be hard to hear, and i know that you may want to deny it. Do the research for yourself.

Go to the SEC website ( http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/852766/000114420407061577/v093661_10qsb.htm ) and look at their financial report.

If you look at their revenues, you can clearly see that they earned most of their money by selling their websites. About 28 million in three months. What did they earn in the travel that they sold? About 6 million. In other words, only about 14 percent of their total revenue.

A scam is when money is transfered from the top to the bottom without any real products being sold, and without sales outside the organization happening. I don't know what percentage of travel that is booked is by the agents themselves, just looking for a discount. I will say that for those who treat this like a actual travel business, and sell travel to people outside the organization, this is a good business. However, to those people I would also warn them that the majority of the business is not like them, as most of the revenue (about 70%) of the business is made by recruiting others to join.

Weather or not this is a scam is up to you. I think the concept is good, but it needs a LOT of work.

YTB Legit

The startup fee is quite high---$500. Then you must pay $50 a month to be in the business whether you sell or travel that month. You pay a monthly membership fee and if you have no sales or downline. what do you get for the $50?
You rely on people booking travel with your membership for the credit.
There are a dozen travel sites people can use. but you think people will always use your travel site. Is it always the cheapest? Who knows?
