We contracted Abby Iron Doors, headquartered in Norcross, GA, but with offices/showrooms in Brandon, FL, Naples, FL, and Nashville, TN, for custom Iron Double front doors on January 3rd, 2024.

You will see below, I discovered a few things they are doing illegally and plenty of bad business practices that I wish I had known about prior to signing with them. I am also not alone in my grievances as found on yelp and BBB. They are hiding under the name "Cavalli Doors" on BBB, if you check things out.

My personal nightmare with them is financial in nature because they required the full 20k for our door before they would deliver and install, so they have all of our money, the door is badly damaged, and our home is damaged to the tune of 10-15k from initial verbal estimates from GCs. Of course, they have disappeared and won't respond to us.

My door contract states they handle everything- install with licensed contractor, permitting, and what they stated would be "minor" finish work such as stucco, drywall and paint around door. Tara Clinton, my sales person, and Deborah Teixeria, operations Manager, also stated this would be a straightforward installation process of a day or less and that the door would take 10-12 weeks to arrive from signing contract/deposit.

The door arrived late, 2nd week of June, for install and was the wrong dimensions. The installer could be heard on our cameras discussing the issue with the office. He didn't want to install because there would be too much damage to our home...the door was ordered half the thickness it should have been and our wood floors would not meet up, trim-work would be extensive, gaps hard to fix, etc. The office was pushy about him installing and they would "figure it out" later how to fix our house. He talked to my husband and told him to refuse the door. We told them to order the correct door and an out swing for hurricanes, not in swing as they had.

The next door took another 5 months, with them ignoring us the entire time, and was in swing again. We waited another month for an out swing frame, and were assured the measurements were correct. The 3rd door came December 16th for install and was randomly ordered 2 inches too high (this was not one of the initial issues) I find out after they remove our old door.  The "simple day install" turned into a 3-day major construction project and they did not warn us this would be happening...we came home to our home being torn apart.

There was no communication from Abby Iron Doors about the major construction project we were about to undergo, and they ignored my calls and texts when I reached out with my concerns about what was happening at my home once I realized. The installers failed to protect our floors and delicate areas of our house or seal our home off properly, they were careless, and we were left with extensive damage. Ruined wood floors, damaged stone, ruined decorative entrance wall, gaps that allow all elements/bugs under the door and into our home, a gap between the two doors where you see daylight, major trim work needed, and more. Plus, the brand-new door has gouges, scrapes down to the metal, finish irregularities, is bubbling/peeling, and a damaged seal.

The owner, Angie Lin, and managers, Jenny Perez, Tara Clinton, and Deborah Teixeria, have ignored our emails and texts. We have waited weeks for a response.

To my surprise, beyond the damage, there is much more at stake here with how they illegally installed my door. There was no active permit on our door when it was installed mid-December. It expired in September 2024, and Deborah, Operations Manager, assured us a new permit was pulled by a new GC, via email. Manatee County, where I live in FL, informed me last week that is absolutely untrue when I called to see why an inspector had not been out. They shared the old expired permit, which was completely falsified. It was not the door I contracted on months before the permit was submitted nor the door that was installed. They submitted a door a fraction of the height of what was to be installed and completely different in appearance all around along with other pertinent details that were fabricated to obtain the permit.  The door submitted with the seal from the State of Florida licensed engineer is only approved to a certain height, and above that, architectural and engineering analysis must occur it states. Of course, mine does not meet those dimensions at all, it is much taller, so I am praying I doon't have a major issue on my hands.

To top it off, they also hired an unlicensed contractor to do the work, it turns out, after digging on the Florida Licensing and Sunbiz websites. Again, very illegal.

I do not understand how they are still in business, but as I continue to dig in TN, GA, and FL it appears there are a lot of unhappy customers that have been harmed by Angie Lin and her associates, through Abby Iron Doors.
