My business partner, and I were previously engaged in a contractual relationship with Karl Curran and his LLC My Affordable Health Quotes for whom we provided monthly marketing services. We recently concluded our business association with this client.

Subsequently, he initiated a dispute for the last four months of service charges, amounting to over $17,000, with his cardholder. We process our transactions through Square, who promptly notified us of the dispute and allowed us to submit evidence to corroborate the legitimacy of the charges. In response, we furnished a signed contract and visual documentation confirming the delivery of the services in question.

I would like to note that the disputed sum of $17,000+ was provisionally withdrawn from our account—presumably to be held in escrow—pending the outcome of the dispute investigation on the part of his credit card company. We have since been informed that all four contested charges, which collectively account for $17,023.22, have been resolved in favor of the cardholder. Square has advised us that there is no further channel for contesting this outcome and that our sole remaining recourse is legal action. Apparently this is a common outcome since most credit card companies rule in favor of their card holder and let the legal system deal with these sort of issues.

Given the substantial amount involved, this sort of case surpasses the threshold for small claims court. Even I were to hire an attorney and win, I would have to spend upwards of an additional $7500 or more dollars to get a judgement in my favor and that does not guarantee me to collect.

Karl and his firm are total rip off artists and I would not recommend him or his service to anyone. There are far more options out there, ones that actually have integrity.
